TYRONE - Six area wrestlers were tabbed top seeds for this weekend's District 6 Class AA Tournament at the seeding meeting Tuesday night at Tyrone High School.
Cambria Heights' Joe Davis (120) and Ross Inzana (170), Claysburg-Kimmel's James Dodson (132) and Ty Dively (125), Central Cambria's returning District 6 champion Ben Rager (126) and Moshannon Valley's James Stodart (195) were named the top seeds.
Cambria Heights also had two second seeds in returning District 6 champion Ryan Dupas (113) and Jake Beach (195). Penn Cambria's Nick Szala (138), Huntingdon's Josh Bafia (152), Central Cambria's returning district champ Tony Risaliti (160), Tyrone's Jared Beckwith (182) and Mo Valley's Jake Ludwig (220) are also second seeds.
C-K's Josh Brown (106) and Titus Feathers (285), Tyrone's Dylan Weston (145) and D.J. Wunder (152), Bellwood-Antis' Jared Woomer (120), Mo Valley's Dylan Ludwig (182), Huntingdon's Nathan Shope (195) and Penn Cambria's Seth McLendon (220) were tabbed third seeds.
The rest of the top seeds are Ligonier Valley's Justin Patrick (106) and Joshua Patrick (113), Forest Hills' Richard Brydon (145), Cody Law (160) Blairsville's Andrew Doak (152), Scott Thompson (182), Richland's two-time state champion John Rizzo (220) and Juniata's Dylan Powell (285).
The tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Altoona Fieldhouse with the first round. The second round, quarterfinals and three rounds of consolations will go on the first day. The tournament resumes at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the the fourth round of consolations. The semifinals are slated for noon. The third and fifth-place bouts are set for 5:30 p.m., and the championship finals are scheduled for 6:45.
