Leo E. Stanek, 81, Nicktown, died Friday. He was born in Cymbria, son of the late John and Frances Stanek. Surviving are his wife, the former Victoria Marana; five children: John, Diane Hake, Lee, Gerry and Judy; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lubert; and four brothers: Frank, Vincent, Barney and Bill. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Walter, Stanley, John, George, Anthony and Joseph. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church.
