Beatrice F. Seigle

Aug. 1, 1929 - Jan. 25, 2012

January 28, 2012
The Altoona Mirror

Beatrice F. Seigle, 82, formerly of Champion, died Wednesday night at Pocopson Home, West Chester.

She was born in Blandburg, daughter of the late Alfred C. and Twila B. (McDonald) Frank.

Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Ferber of West Chester; two sons: Christopher and Mark, both of Pittsburgh; and nine grandchildren: Rebecca, Jessica, Elizabeth, Lydia, Mark, Jacquelyn, Courtney, Christopher and Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur.

Beatrice was a graduate of Reade Township High School and attended college in Baltimore, Md. She owned and operated several successful businesses in her lifetime, the last of which was Bea Seigle Real Estate in Donegal. Upon the sale of her business, she retired from real estate brokerage after more than 20 years.

She attended St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Donegal and was an active member of the National Federation of Independent Business.

Beatrice enjoyed traveling, skiing, golfing and auctions and yard sales in the "quest for treasures," but most of all she coveted time with her grandchildren. She was a never-ending source of advice and comfort to her family and the most genuine counselor to her children. She was always candid and forthright in her opinions and dealings with others, and her commitment to her children and grandchildren was readily apparent to all who knew her. She was, in the greatest sense of the word, an extraordinary woman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, where a funeral service outside of Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, Father Jozef Kovacik officiating. Committal will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Garvey Manor Nursing Home, 1037 S. Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
