NEWRY -The inaugural St. Patrick's Day 5K Run, One-Mile Fun Walk and Youth Events will be held March 17. Events start and finish in front of St. Patrick Elementary School (intersection of Patrick Lane and Limerick Street). Post-race refreshments will be served in the gym.
Events include the "Limerick to Dublin Dash'' at 9 a.m. Age categories are ages 4-5; 6-7; 8-9; and 10-13.
The 5K Run starts at 9:30 a.m., and the One-Mile Fun Walk starts at 9:35 a.m. Age categories are 19 and younger; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and older.

Registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. in the school gym. The cost to register follows:
5K Run - $20, or $15 if postmarked by Feb. 27.
One-Mile Fun?Walk - $15, or $10 if postmarked by Feb. 27.
"Limerick to Dublin Dash'' - $11, or $9 if postmarked by Feb. 27.
T-shirts will be guaranteed to the first 75 entrants. Awards will be presented to the first-, second- and third-place male and female in each age group for the 5K Run, and ribbons will be presented to all walk and dash participants.
Sponsorships also are available. For a $50 or $75 donation, you can have your business name on the back of the race T-shirt. For a donation of $100 or more, businesses also can include their logo. The sponsorship deadline is Feb. 1. All contributions are tax-deductible.
