ALVERTON - Northern Bedford 285-pounder Quinton Hixson went 4-0 and won a Southmoreland Holiday Classic title in high school wrestling Friday.
Hixson won the title with a 10-4 win over Uniontown's Nathan Spinetti in the finals.
Six other Black Panthers placed in the top six, and Northern finished third in the team standings with 136 points. Greenville won the team title by 25.5 points, 190.5-164.5, over Jefferson Morgan.
Drew Gartland (145) finished third, while Mason Replogle (120) and Matt Sollenberger (152) took fourth. Damian Corle (138) placed fifth, while Cody Guyer (106) and Eric Grace (195) finished sixth.
Kittanning's returning state champion Jason Nolf defeated North Star's two-time state champ Nick Roberts, 11-6, in overtime to win the 120-pound title and the Outstanding Wrestler award.

JOHNSTOWN - Noah Murray scored the lone goal for the Bishop Guilfoyle Purple freshman team as the Marauders fell, 6-1, to Johnstown at the Cambria County War Memorial in ice hockey.
Cole Yeckley provided the assist, and Sarah Authier stopped 33 out of 39 shots.
