The Blockbuster video rental store at 216 W. Plank Road is to close Jan. 22, employees said Tuesday.
The store was closed Monday to liquidate movies on stock.
Messages left at the Blockbuster corporate office were not returned Tuesday.
Blockbuster, now owned by Dish Network Corp., had filed for bankruptcy protection in September 2010 when it couldn't counter the threat posed by Netflix Inc., whose DVD-by-mail service and expansion into Internet video streaming revolutionized home entertainment.
