Coldwell Banker Town & Country Real Estate of Altoona was ranked fifth in the country for September in total units sold among Coldwell Banker affiliate offices with 21 to 35 sales associates.
There are 347 affiliate offices nationally in the category.
Those numbers are related to affiliate offices of Coldwell Banker and do not include numbers of Coldwell Banker Residential Mortgage NRT Inc.
"We are up some this year from last year. The local economy is generally better than a lot of areas," Robert F. Pennington, broker/owner, said. "We have a lot of good people and support staff, and we do aggressively market. Our area has been steadier and that speaks well for Blair County."
Pennington called the local real estate market a "work in progress."
"We are trudging along and hopefully by spring 2012, we will start to see a turnaround," he said. "We are still selling a lot of homes."
