Simendinger paces PC
CRESSON - Freshman Arlee Simendinger broke her own school record by 3 seconds as she led Penn Cambria to a 15-47 win over Cambria Heights in high school girls cross country. Emily Sopata was the highest placing Lady Highlander in seventh.
In the boys race, the Highlanders' Eric Boothman finished first to help give his team a slim 27-28 victory against the Panthers. Nick Frank was third for Penn Cambria.
Penn Cambria and Cambria Heights picked up forfeit wins over Windber in both the boys and girls races.

BEDFORD - Despite a second-place finish by Lauren Diehl, Bedford fell to Bishop McCort, 23-36, in high school girls cross country.
Samantha Coffman of Tussey Mountain was third.
Bedford's Tanner Williams finished third in the boys race with a time of 18:50, but the Bisons lost to Bishop McCort, 20-37.
Seth Lingenfelter of Northern Bedford took second in 18:44.
