JOHNSTOWN - Central Cambria's Ed Maruca and Tyrone's Gregory Ferguson shared the individual championship at the Wheeling Invitational played Monday at Sunnehanna Country Club.

Maruca and Ferguson both carded identical scores of 147 for 36 holes to pace the field of 75 golfers.

Maruca carded a 71 on the back 18 after logging a 76 on the first 18 holes. Ferguson's splits were 77 on the front 18 and 70 on the second 18.

Central Cambria won the team championship with a score of 628, besting runner-up Hollidaysburg (660) and third-place State College (666).

Central Cambria's Max Kirsch finished fourth individually with a score of 151, while Hollidaysburg's Nolan Robbins placed 10th with a score of 157.

Hollidaysburg's Jared Wood and Central's A.J. Farkus carded identical 36-hole scores of 164 to finish in a tie for 15th place. The Golden Tigers' Jordan Kirsch finished in a tie for 20th place after carding a score of 167.

EVERETT - Brady Smith of Everett was the medalist, carding a 75, as Everett took second place at the Inter-County Conference Meet at the Down River Golf Course.

Bellwood-Antis won the match and was led by Jake Pearson with an 89 and Nate Martin with a 91.

J.J. McCabe shot a 79 for Northern Bedford.

Duo leads Lady Tigers

PHILIPSBURG - Julie Brustle and Marissa Rosensteel both carded 46s as Hollidaysburg defeated Bellefonte (225) and Philipsburg-Osceola (270) at the Philipsburg Country Club.

The Lady Tigers (4-0) finished the day with a 194.

Abby Showers shot a 65 for Philipsburg.
