Golf event raises $23,500 for Skills Inc.

On July 11, Skills of Central Pennsylvania Inc. raised $23,500 at its sixth annual E.F. "Pat" Houser Golf Tournament.

Sponsors included Reliance Bank (Ace sponsor); McQuaide Blasko Attorneys at Law (dinner sponsor); Sheetz Inc. (platinum sponsor); Thompson Pharmacy, Simpson & McCrady, and Wessel & Co. (lunch sponsor); and Andrews & Beard Law Office (putting contest sponsor). Twenty-four teams competed for prizes with the Sheetz team clinching the overall win, followed closely by Andrews & Beard and First National Bank. Denny Doll from Reliance Bank got closest to the pin, and Bob DeHaas won the longest drive contest.

The putting contest was won by Ray Kauffman, followed by Jared Gorentz. Carolyn Donaldson from WTAJ greeted the players on the ninth hole, where Stuckey Subaru offered a hole-in-one prize of $20,000.
