UNIVERSITY PARK - Hollidaysburg's boys golf team did not place at the Bolton Invitational Monday, finishing with a score of 256.

Abbington Heights won the event with a score of 228, Mifflin County was second with 238 and State College was third with a 244.

Jared Wood led Hollidaysburg players with an 83. Jordan Kirsch (88), Cameron Humphrey (88) and Nolan Robbins (85) also broke 90 for the Golden Tigers.

The Hollidaysburg girls team also competed at the meet and finished third with a score of 282, led by Julie Brustle with an 88. Teresa Kuhns and Quincy Gildea tied for second at 97 while Kahley Stiffler was fourth at 108.

"I was pleased that they competed, but a concern of mine, being consistent, is something that we need to work on and that we will become a better team once we do that," Lady Tigers coach Bernie Jubeck said.

Central Dauphin won the girls meet with a 253. State College was second at 262. Alyssa Cooper of Central Dauphin was the medalist at 73.

Bedford wins Cup

BEDFORD - Bedford won the Bedford County Cup Tournament held in high school golf at the Bedford Springs Resort on Monday, thanks to an 82 shot by Matt Karnas.

The Bisons finished with a 456.

Northern Bedford took second at 497, thanks to Jake Frederick's 90. J.J. McCabe was second at 91, followed by Cody Guyer and Joelle Kaminsky, who tied for third with 111s.

Everett was third with a 504. Kyle Walters led the Warriors with a 91. Chestnut Ridge was fourth with a 560. Jake Williams led the way with 95.

Central falters

MARTINSBURG-Central dropped its first match of the season in high school tennis to Windber, 6-1.

The doubles partners of Sarah Sault and Sarabeth Bean picked up the only win for the Lady Dragons.

Meet the Tigers

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg Area High School will hold its "Meet the Tigers" night this Thursday at 6 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

All fall athletic sports teams will be introduced, plus senior members of the marching band, majorettes and cheerleaders.

If there is bad weather, the event will be postponed and will not be made up.
