CLAYSBURG - Cheryl Ebersole is back doing what she loves to do - working with people.

In March, Ebersole launched Anterior Marketing Solutions, which "offers businesses and organizations a cost-effective way to do their marketing and public relations and event planning."

"What I do is coordinate and develop partnerships between the client and myself and a wonderful team of freelancers. I interact with the client and get to know them and their needs and work with our team to develop concepts, ideas, programs and events," Ebersole said.

Ebersole resigned as executive director of the Allegheny Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau in September 2009, a position she had held since 1991 when it split off from Blair County Chamber of Commerce.

"I literally took a vacation, a true vacation spent with my husband and two sons. I completed a two full-page to-do list," Ebersole said. "The break helped revitalize me. I have never felt more healthy and refreshed and energetic. I was ready to get back into the marketing world. The creative juices started flowing."

Ebersole said she conducted a feasibility study before launching her business, which is based out of her Claysburg home. She said her experience is valuable to her clients.

"I have over 30 years of experience, which includes a full range of advertising, marketing, public relations and event planning background," Ebersole said. "I am basically doing what I was doing there [AMCVB]. I was always helping others, and I missed that."

Ebersole said she will do free public relations and marketing work for nonprofit organizations. She noted many of them have lost funding, and this is a way to help them.

One example of nonprofit work is at The Park at Morrisons Cove, where Roseanne Conrad, executive director/park manager, said Ebersole has been helping with event planning on a volunteer basis.

"She has a wealth of knowledge in the special events business," Conrad said. "We were starting a new program, and we knew she could help us with the event. She helped us plan the event and helped us line up sponsors and vendors."

Ebersole is getting the word out about her business through networking and talking with business associates she has known for years.

"The feedback and response has been positive," Ebersole said. "It is amazing how much you have stored in your memory bank, which leads to contact after contact, which is what business is all about - talking to people and communicating."

Ebersole can be reached at 935-4183 or anterior@ embarqmail.com.
