BLAIRSVILLE - Jordan Faretta's three-run double in the top of the seventh gave Tyrone the lead and started the 12th-seeded Eagles toward a seven-run inning and a 13-10 win over fifth-seeded Blairsville in the first round of the District 6 Class AA baseball playoffs on Friday.
Faretta went 3-for-3, scored four runs and knocked in four. J.D. Dorminy went 2-for-3, and belted a two-run double in the seventh for the Eagles, who were without four starters who missed the bus for the 11 a.m. game.
Andrew Icezi, Andrew Gilmore, Troy Direnzo and Bobby Gosten had two hits each for the Bobcats.
The Eagles (6-12) will play at fourth-seeded Bald Eagle Area 4 p.m. Monday in the quarterfinals.

MARION CENTER - Bryce Brawley pitched a complete game as Cambria Heights won a pitchers' duel against Marion Center in the first round of the District 6 Class AA playoffs.
Donny Contorchick knocked in the winning run on an RBI groundout.
"We played really well,'' CH coach Tony Kline said. "Both pitchers pitched a great game, we manufactured some runs, played good defense and came up with a big play with the bases loaded to win the game.''
The Highlanders play at second-seeded Philipsburg-Osceola on Monday.

EBENSBURG - Zack Ambrisco had two doubles with an RBI as Central Cambria knocked out West Branch in the first round of the District 6 Class AA playoffs.
"Our pitching was the thing that was exceptional. Zach [Ambrisco] went out and did a great job keeping them off balance," CC coach Dave Moore said. "We got enough timely contact when we needed it."
Mitchell Brown had two hits and drove in a run for the Red Devils. Justin Monito went 2-for-3 and chipped in two RBIs.
Central Cambria will play at Mount Union Monday.

PORTAGE - Jeremy Piatak's solo home run in the sixth inning was the difference in Portage's win over Ferndale in the WestPAC North championship game.
The Mustangs will play at 7 p.m. today against Salisbury, the WestPAC South winner, for the conference title.
