INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced the 55 Division III Baseball Tournament participants on Monday morning. The participants will compete in eight regional tournaments, including the Mideast Regional Tournament set for May 18-22 at Don Schaly Stadium at Marietta College.
Penn State Altoona was given the No. 7 seed in the Mideast Regional bracket and will face No. 2 seed Heidelberg University in the opening round of the tournament on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
The Lions (28-11) are coming off of an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship victory this past weekend, their second-ever AMCC title. Heidelberg (33-11) is the ninth-ranked team in Division III according to last Sunday's D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll.

Servello leads Lions
Phil Servello's 15 service points, 14 assists and 13 digs propelled Altoona over Bishop Guilfoyle, 25-20, 25-11, 23-25, 25-18, in high school boys volleyball at the AAHS Fieldhouse on Monday night.
Jeremy Swartz and Mitchell Snyder combined for 25 kills as the Mountain Lions moved to 9-3. The Marauders fell to 4-12.

The Lions, who led 5-2 after two innings, got two hits from Tommy Walter.
