From Mirror reports
If the seedings hold up, the District 6 Class AA softball semifinals and finals could be a playground for area teams.
The district released the seedings and pairings on Monday, and teams from the Mirror coverage area garnered the top three seeds in Class AA. Philipsburg-Osceola is the top-ranked team, while Laurel Highlands Conference rivals Central Cambria and Penn Cambria are two and three, respectively.
Portage is the first seed in Class A, with Claysburg-Kimmel checking in at No. 2. The tournament gets under way on Thursday with five Class AA games in addition to a single Class A game pitting Bellwood-Antis against Juniata Valley.
The Class AAA tournament starts Monday. The Class AAAA bracket will be announced next week.
The top three teams in Class AA and the top seven in Class A have first-round byes. Northern Cambria is the only other area team to secure a top-four seeding, checking in at No. 3 in Class A.
