Oak Spring wins awards

The Altoona Mirror

Oak Spring Winery's blueberry wine brought home a gold medal from the Tasters Guild 24th annual International Wine Competition last month in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The winery also won a silver medal for its Game Day white wine, which is a French hybrid vidal blanc wine, as well as a bronze medal for both its Niagara wine and its cherry chocolate wine.

Thirty judges from around the country judged nearly 2,500 wines from 11 countries and 37 states/provinces.

"This is a very big honor when you put your wines up against the biggest wine producers from around the world," said Scott Schraff, general manager/winemaker at Oak Spring Winery, in a statement. "It is even more special since we only entered four wines and each brought home a medal."
