C-K edges Lady Hornets for ICC North title

CLAYSBURG - Kelsey Ickes pitched Claysburg-Kimmel to the ICC North championship with a 3-1 win over Juniata Valley in high school softball Friday.

Ickes gave up two hits. Brooke Ritchey drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Lady Bulldogs.

Juniata Valley fell to 7-9, while C-K is now 15-3

HOUTZDALE - Taylor Payne picked up two victories on the mound, and Jayme Fraser hit a three-run homer for Bellwood-Antis that turned out to be the difference in the second game as the Lady Blue Devils swept a doubleheader from Moshannon Valley.

Emily Nagle drove in two of Bellwood's runs during the first game, a 3-2 win. B-A won the second, 5-2.

BELLWOOD - Bellwood-Antis swept Moshannon Valley, 18-3 and 8-0, in junior high action.

In the first game, Anna Wolfe and Jacqueline Finn had four RBIs for the Lady Devils. Kaylee Garver struck out eight Damsels in game two. Bellwood-Antis improved to 12-3.

Lady Tiger juniors win

HOLLIDAYSBURG - In junior high softball action, Hollidaysburg's eighth grade team defeated Altoona, 7-1 and 14-10. Led by Kaylee Beaudoin's 5-for-5 day, the Lady Tigers moved to 8-8.

Hollidaysburg also won both seventh grade games, 15-0 and 17-3. Annie Ruggles had three RBIs, and Sam Parnell went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
