CRESSON - Taylor Swatsworth homered in the first inning, and Lindsay Beyer had two triples to help the Central Cambria High School softball team give Penn Cambria its first loss of the season, 4-3, Wednesday.
The Panthers chipped into a 4-2 Red Devil lead in the bottom of the seventh but stranded two runners on base.
Alli Reese and Kate Reese each had two hits for Penn Cambria.

Kelly Lieb led the Lady Colts, up 7-0 after two innings, with two hits and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Bree Sabella gave up three hits, struck out six and walked just one.

In the first game, Abby Showers had two home runs, and Alyssa Shedlock had a single, double and home run. In the second game, Showers and McKenzie Burge each had a single and triple.
The Lady Mounties also won in the B game, 12-1.
CK juniors win big
CLAYSBURG - Claysburg-Kimmel defeated Bedford, 19-3, in four innings in junior high action. Rachel Walters had a triple, and Hannah Ickes had a two-run double. Claysburg improved to 7-2.
Altoona teams swept
LOCK HAVEN - Altoona fell to Central Mountain in junior high action, 17-0 and 24-4.
In the JV, Altoona lost 20-5 and 15-0.
Hollidaysburg juniors lose
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Hollidaysburg junior high team dropped a 10-4 decision to Mount Union to fall to 6-8. Katie Dinges led the Lady Tigers with two hits.
The Hollidaysburg seventh grade team lost, 18-3, in three innings to fall to 2-9. Marissa Maher had an RBI single for the Lady Tigers.
