LOYSBURG - Members of the Bellwood-Antis boys track and field team started a slow clap alongside the triple jump runway while teammate Brian Leap made an approach Tuesday afternoon at the Inter-County Conference championship at Northern Bedford High School.
He may have them do it again when the district meet rolls around next week because the senior broke his school's record in the event by more than a foot.
For Leap - and the entire Blue Devils team - it was just one of many successful runs on the day as Bellwood easily claimed the league title by 126 points over Northern Bedford.

"That got me pumped up," Leap said of the support. "It helped me get some good marks."
"Our guys all year long have been performing," Bellwood-Antis coach Nick Lovrich said. "It's not just first-place performances, but we have a lot of depth on our team. When you can [place more than one in an event], that's huge in an invitational."
That depth may help the Blue Devils in the near future.
Bellwood won 14 of the 18 overall events, and in 12 out of the 15 individual events, the Blue Devils placed two or more in the top 6.
"We have so much depth, lots of guys in every event," Leap said. "At districts, you have eight places to fill. We might not get there first, but we can get seconds, thirds, fourths - it all adds up."
Leap, who was named outstanding jumper, won the high (6-7), long (21-8) and triple jumps (47-11), eclipsing meet records in each. He bested his own school records in the high jump (6-6) and triple jump (46-6).
And if that wasn't enough, his 1,600 relay team also won in meet-record time.
"I was just coming in, trying to get [personal records], just to do better myself," Leap said. "The heat definitely helped. And I was feeling real good."
Not to be out-done, Seth Worthing - the meet's Outstanding Runner - claimed the 100 and 200 dashes, and was a part of the first-place 400 and 1600 relay teams. The only meet record he didn't set was in the 200.
Jared Minori didn't set any records, but performed just as well, winning the shot put and javelin for the Devils. He placed fifth in the discus and was named Outstanding Thrower.
"You like to see the kids work hard and succeed, and a lot of my kids are that way," Lovrich said.
On the girls side, Everett held on through the last few events to defeat Northern Bedford by 15 points.
Freshman Baylee Beegle notched four wins (100 dash, long jump, 400 relay, 1600 relay) for the Lady Warriors in what coach Sue Conner called a "shocking" win for her team.
"You tell them through the season that every little bit helps," Connor said, seeming grasping for words after it was announced that Everett won. "This is just unexpected. This is what you work for all season.
"Baylee just shocked me to no end. As a freshman? Wow."
Notes: Northern Bedford's Maria Snyder was named Outstanding Runner, Southern Huntingdon's Marie Revercomb was Outstanding Jumper and Juniata Valley's Kylie Berrena was Outstanding Thrower. ... A total of 18 meet records fell at the fourth annual event.
