Bulldogs’ six in sixth beats Devils

CLAYSBURG - Claysburg-Kimmel's six-run sixth inning ended up being the difference as the Bulldogs knocked off Bellwood-Antis, 17-11, in high school baseball Monday.

Trey Claar went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Devin Weyandt had three hits and two RBIs.

B-A's Cody Krepps went 3-for-5 and drove in three, and Ryan Stuby added a RBI triple for the Blue Devils.

PATTON - Johnstown rallied from a 5-1 deficit with one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings and seven runs in the seventh to down Cambria Heights.

Josh Barto came in to pitch in the second inning and shut down Heights over the last five innings. Grant Noon and Curtis McClain each had two hits and two RBIs for Johnstown.

Andrew Brawley drilled a three-run homer, and Nathan Bearer drove in two runs in Heights' five-run second inning.

BEDFORD - Brenden Vollkommer posted two hits, drove in three runs and scored twice, but Spring Cove fell to Bedford, 16-14, in junior high action.

NBC juniors lose

LOYSBURG - The Northern Bedford junior high team was defeated by McConnellsburg, 23-12.

Kyler Diehl and Cory Zimmerman led the Panthers' offensive attack with two hits each. Caleb Grace drove in two runs for the Panthers.
