PHILIPSBURG - Kelci Knepp's single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Chelsea Rex and lifted Philipsburg-Osceola to a 6-5 win over rival Bald Eagle Area at the Curtis Park Athletic Complex in high school softball Tuesday.
The win gave P-O's Jim Gonder his 499th career victory in his 28th season as the Lady Mounties' coach.
Rex had a three-run home run, and Mackenzie Wilson had three hits.
Rex got the pitching win in relief of Kate Burge, who worked the first six innings.

WINGATE - Bald Eagle Area defeated Philipsburg-Osceola, 2-1, in the 'A' game, and Philipsburg-Osceola won the 'B' game, 10-2, in junior high softball.
Morgan Williamson and Megan Bainey each had a double in the 'A' game for the Lady Mounties.
