MARTINSBURG - Tyler Ferguson pitched a six-hitter, striking out 10 batters, and Central benefited from two walks, a hit-batsman and a sacrifice fly to score twice in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 Mountain League Nittany Division win over Philipsburg-Osceola.
Jarron Knisely's sacrifice fly drove in one run, and Brandon Negley drew a bases-loaded walk to force home Luke Blattenberger from third base with the winning run for Central, which won despite being outhit, 6-4.
Philipsburg-Osceola won the completion of a previously suspended game between the two teams, 6-0, as Parker Watson pitched a two-hit shutout, and Drew Bryan knocked in three runs.
The split outcomes left Central with a 9-4 overall record and an 8-3 record in the division. Philipsburg-Osceola is 5-4 overall.
