Blattenberger hits four homers in 36-22 win

CLEARFIELD - It may have seemed like a basketball game in Clearfield Friday night. However, the Central baseball team defeated Clearfield, 36-22, in six innings.

Central's Luke Blattenberger went 6-for-7, hit four home runs and knocked in nine runs. Also, Lucas Runk went 5-for-7, ripped two home runs and hit for the cycle. Runk and Blattenberger knocked in one-third of the runs for Central.

The game saw 58 runs on 51 hits. Central scored no runs in the first but would score seven in the next three innings. Each team scored double digits in one inning. The Scarlet Dragons scored 12 in the sixth, and the Bisons scored 10 in the third.

Brandon Negley scored six runs for the Scarlet Dragons as they improved to 8-3. Kasey Hamm was the winning pitcher.

Altoona's Christian Helsel pounded out three hits, while Tyson Steele and Matt Frederick had two hits apiece. Punxsy's Tyler Skerakavich had three hits, while teammate Jordan Mesoraco had two hits.
