The El Campesino Mexican restaurant in the Park Hills Plaza will close its doors at 10:30 p.m. today.
The business, owned by Felix Gutierrez and Maurilo Alva, plans to reopen in mid- to late-May in the former Uno Chicago Grill, 206 E. Plank Road, manager Herbert Sequeda said.
El Campesino had been in the Park Hills Plaza for 10 years, Sequeda said.
The new location will enable El Campesino to triple its seating capacity and double its staff. The 11 current employees will be retained.
The menu at the new location will have more items but will be basically the same, Sequeda said.
Business hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 10:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
