DUNCANSVILLE -- Two people are dead at a Blair County fire scene.
Blair County Deputy Coroner Paul Kerns confirmed that a woman was found dead inside a home on the 900 block of Old Route 22 in Allegheny Township. A man was found dead on the front porch, Kerns said.
Kerns didn't identify the victims, but said that the woman was too badly burned to immediately identify. Neighbors told the Mirror that Dave and Betsy Aurandt lived at the home.
Allegheny Township police and firefighters and other Blair County firefighters were dispatched to the home about 7:15 p.m. for a reported fire and explosion. Smoke could be seen from the center of Duncansville about 2 miles away.
An attempt to contact Allegheny Township Police Chief P. Richard Books for comment wasn't immediately successful late Thursday.
