Suter’s five RBIs propel Panthers past Forbes Road

WATERFALL - Joel Suter drove in five runs, and Issac Stern piled up four RBIs to lead Northern Bedford past Forbes Road, 16-1, in just three innings in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Altoona, which trailed 6-3 after three innings, got two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs from Anthony Lombardo. Teammate Trevor Bush added two hits and a run scored.

MORRISDALE - Bellwood-Antis' game with West Branch was suspended in the fifth inning because of rain and lightning. West Branch was leading B-A, 4-1.

The game is scheduled to be completed as part of a doubleheader at Bellwood-Antis on May 11. The Warriors scored three unearned runs in the first before Curtis Baugh tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the second. B-A's Tobias Patterson scored on a bases-loaded walk of Haden DeGennaro in the fourth.

EBENSBURG - Dylan Link hit for the cycle, scored three runs and drove in another as Bishop Carroll polished off Central Cambria in five innings Monday night.

Taylor Makin had three hits and an RBI for Carroll, which led 7-0 after one inning. Teammate Brent Sammarco added two hits and four RBIs to go with two RBIs from Josh King.

Winning pitcher Nick Lassak struck out five, walked no one and scattered seven hits, giving up two runs in the fifth inning.

NBC juniors lose

LOYSBURG - Northern Bedford's junior high baseball team lost to Forbes Road, 14-6, despite two hits each from Jon Lamont and Kyler Diehl.

Altoona Teener Major

Winning pitcher Justin DeGennaro went the distance, scattering five hits and striking out 14, and also had two hits in his own behalf as Juniata Civics evened its record at 1-1 by beating Furrer Beverage in the late Monday Altoona Teener Major baseball game at Seitz Field.

Jimmy Marquette collected three hits and two RBIs for Juniata, while Isaac Bowman drove in three runs on two hits. Furrer's Jason Kruis has two hits.
