Guilfoyle wins in eight to sweep DH from PC

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic swept a doubleheader from Penn Cambria, 4-1 and 6-5 in eight innings, in high school baseball Monday at Vets Field.

Stefan Beard and Marcus Wolf both hit two-run home runs in the first game. Jextin Pugh struck out 12 in the first game .

In the second game, Nate Sanders scored Pugh with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Nate Nardelli scored on a fielder's choice with no outs in the eighth.

PC's Mike Kearney had three hits, and BG's Jared Keller had two hits. PC starting pitcher Justin Fuller had 13 strikeouts.

Dan Sollenberger, who hit a solo homer, drove in three runs for Northern Bedford (7-3 overall), while Isaac Stern knocked in a pair of runs for the Black Panthers.
