Swatsworth reaches milestone in CC win

EBENSBURG - Taylor Swatsworth collected the 100th hit of her career as Central Cambria defeated Bedford, 14-1, in high school softball Monday.

Kiersten Lorditch drove in four runs and Swatsworth two as the Lady Devils moved to 4-0. Kacy Blevins had the only RBI for Bedford.

n Altoona Area improved to 2-3 by defeating Tyrone, 15-7, in the 'A' game. In the 'B' game, Altoona beat Tyrone, 8-7, for its first win of the year, as Alyssa Fasolo had a double, and Savanah Gray struck out eight.

n Philipsburg-Osceola won in the extra innings, 2-1, over visiting Indian Valley in the first game of a doubleheader behind McKenzie Burge's triple and single. In the second A game, Burge had a triple and two singles to lead the Lady Mounties to a 11-1 win in the second game. Indian Valley won both of the 'B' games, 14-11 and 8-3.

n Hollidaysburg lost at DuBois, 20-5. The seventh grade team also lost, 17-9. Both teams fell to 1-2.
