LEWISTOWN - Dan Hoover won both hurdle races, and the Scarlet Dragons swept the throwing events as Central split a triangular meet with Huntingdon and Lewistown in high school boys track and field on Tuesday.
The Dragons beat Huntingdon, 79-59, although the Bearcats' Tyrell Green won the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Lewistown downed Central, 94-55.

Central drops two
LEWISTOWN - Natalie Isett (100, 200), Bethany Ledford (high jump, pole vault) and Alissa Sellers (300 hurdles, triple jump) won two events apiece as Huntingdon downed Central in a girls track triangular Mountain League meet, 101-49, on Tuesday.
The Lady Dragons also dropped a 93-51 decision to host Lewistown.

BC juniors triumph
EBENSBURG- In junior high volleyball action, Bishop Carroll beat Cambria Heights, 25-9, 25-14, to improve to 9-0. Sarah Gomish had eight kills, and Abbie Kline had seven service points. Jess Shaffer also had 10 assists in the victory.
Cambria Heights fell to 3-3 on the season.
In JV, Bishop Carroll won 25-16, 24-26, 16-14, moving to 8-1. Cambria Heights went to 4-2.
Over excels in college
Northern Bedford graduate Brooke Over earned three wins pitching for the Shenandoah softball team last week.
Over pitched a three hitter with 10 strikeouts in a win over Ferrum, allowed one hit and struck out seven in a victory over Meredith and won her 11th game of the year, allowing just three hits and recording seven strikeouts in a win over Greensboro.
Over is ranked No. 6 among NCAA Division III pitchers with 120 strikeouts in the most recent NCAA rankings.
Snyder inducted
Steven Snyder, a 1970 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel, was inducted into the Southwestern PA Wrestling Hall of Fame this past postseason as a referee.
Snyder, who earned undergraduate and masters degrees from Slippery Rock (1979) and Westminster College (1981), has served as secretary/treasurer of the Pittsburgh Wrestling Officials since 1993.
He has officiated more than 500 dual meets and 150 tournaments. He's worked 20 WPIAL tournaments, four PIAA Championships and four national high school tournaments.
Snyder has been a teacher in the Grove City School District for 35 years.
