NEW PARIS - Stefanie McCoy pitched and hit Chestnut Ridge to an 11-1 win over Everett Thursday afternoon in high school softball action.
The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
McCoy gave up four hits, struck out five and walked just two as the Lady Lions improved to 2-0. Offensively, she collected four hits, including a grand slam in the third inning, and finished with six RBIs.

C-K's Lydia Fleck also tripled, and Courtlin Holland and Samantha Barnes knocked in two runs. Claar gave up five hits and walked one, while Central's Kylie Gunnett yielded eight hits, struck out two and walked two.
C-K is 2-0, while Central is 4-1.

McCabe leads Portage to win
PORTAGE - Emily McCabe pitched a four-hit shutout to help Portage defeat North Star, 8-0.
McCabe struck out 10 and walked just one as the Lady Mustangs improved to 2-1.
Rebecca Gorba and Tiffany Sossong each had three hits for the winners, while Jordan Forst added two hits and two RBIs.
McCabe, Courtney Jubina, Ashleigh Kissell and Kaitlyn Dividock added two hits each. Haley Heidler contributed two RBIs.
The Mustangs finished with 20 hits.
JUNIOR HIGH
Spring Cove opens with victory
ROARING SPRING - Lexi Ritchey pitched five innings and had two hits to lead Spring Cove to an 8-2 win over Conemaugh Valley in the opener for both teams in junior high softball.
The Spring Cove B team won, 13-12.
Glendale JH sweeps Harmony
FLINTON - The Glendale junior high team beat Harmony, 16-6 and 26-3, to improve to 3-2. Harmony is 0-2.
In game one, Anna Fowler drove in two runs for the Lady Vikings. Jillian Stiver, Taylor Manges, Kiana Johnson and Amanda Glass each drove in two runs in the 26-3 victory. Stiver, the winning pitcher, gave up no hits in pitching three innings in the 26-3 win.
Altoona juniors swept by DuBois
The Altoona junior high team opened its season at Logan Elementary, losing to DuBois, 30-5 and 17-3.
Merena Simington had two hits for the Lady Lions on the day, while teammate Alyse Saylor had one hit, stole a base and scored one run.
The Altoona JVs lost, 18-5 and 21-3.
Lady Tiger juniors lose
HOLLIDAYSBURG-The Hollidaysburg junior high team dropped a 3-2 decision to Mount Nittany.
Krista Shay had two hits and drove in two runs for the Lady Tigers (0-1).
Hollidaysburg lost the JV game, 16-3. Hannah Madera had three hits and scored two runs for Hollidaysburg (0-1).
