When the Ashley Furniture HomeStores at Logan Town Centre and in Johnstown reopen in May, they will be under the ownership of a New York-based company.
Wellsville Carpet Town Inc., a 44-year-old furnishings retailer with headquarters in Olean, has acquired the stores, which previously operated under Roomful Express.
WCTI currently operates six Ashley Furniture HomeStores in western and central New York state.
"We want the people to understand we are new and different. We are an entirely different company taking over," said Timothy Quinn, WCTI managing partner.
The Altoona and Johnstown stores closed in March and are undergoing extensive renovations. They will be stocked with new merchandise, including Ashley Furniture's latest styles and designs.
All Ashley Furniture HomeStores are independently owned by a network of independent retailers who are licensed to operate in key market areas.
