Athlete of the week achievement: Leap won all three jumping events in a win over Bedford, scored six points playing for Blair County in the Mirror Classic all-star basketball game and won two jumping events at the Altoona Igloo meet. He also finished fourth in the long jump at the Igloo meet.

Season update: Broke his own school record in the triple jump (45-2 3/4) at the Altoona Igloo meet.

Coach Nick Lovrich's quote: "He is just a hard worker. It has really rubbed off on our other jumpers, too. They see what he does and they follow. It is hard to tell he is one of our stars by the way he works at practice. To be at such a level this early in the season shows you the talent he has."
