MARTINSBURG - The Altoona boys volleyball team beat Central, 25-16, 25-9, 25-14, to open its high school season.
Mitchell Snyder led Altoona with 14 service points and 12 digs, while Brandon McGarvey added 14 assists and 13 service points.
Brandon Stitt chipped in with 15 digs, while Jeremy Swartz added 15 kills.
Andy Claycomb led the Scarlet Dragons with five kills and four assists.

EBENSBURG - The Hollidaysburg junior high girls volleyball team improved to 2-1 with a 25-9, 27-25 win over Central Cambria.
Carin Trexler led the Lady Tigers with 21 service points, while Sierra Kirsch added six assists and Alex Scheel contributed four kills.
The Tiger JVs also won, but no score was reported.
