EBENSBURG - The Bishop Carroll junior high girls volleyball team improved its record to 2-0 with a win over Hollidaysburg with a 25-14, 25-11 victory.
The Huskies were led by Sarah Gomlish with 13 kills, Coleena Markovich with 11 service points and Jess Shaffer with 18 assists.
Hollidaysburg's leaders were Sierra Kirsch with eight service points and Alex Scheel with four kills.
BG juniors win opener
BELLWOOD-The Bishop Guilfoyle junior high girls volleyball team won its season-opener Monday afternoon, defeating Bellwood-Antis, 25-18, 26-24.
Annie Dombrowski led Guilfoyle with 12 service points, while teammate Kelsey Murgas added 10 service points.
Correction
Central's Kale Burket was omitted from the placewinners at the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Championships in Monday's paper. Burket went 4-2 and placed seventh at 92 pounds in the 13-14 age group.
Also, Philipsburg-Osceola's Dakota Weitoish, not Derek, placed fifth at 100 pounds in the 11-12 age group.
