BELLWOOD - The Bellwood-Antis High School baseball team won its first game of the season, 7-4, over Juniata Valley on Friday night.
The Blue Devils were led by Dan Beech's seven strikeouts and two RBIs from Alex Dionis.
Juniata Valley's Jordan Pearson had a five-strikeout performance in the opening- day loss.

Carper struck out seven and walked two, while B-A's Taylor Payne struck out eight and walked two.
JV's Taylor Grove belted a single to right field to score the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth.

ROARING SPRING - Bishop Carroll defeated Spring Cove, 25-8, 25-14, in junior high girls volleyball.
Sarah Gomish had 10 kills, and Ellie Yahner had six kills and 16 service points for the Lady Huskies. Carroll's Jess Shaffer added 12 assists.
