UNIVERSITY PARK - Bird and nature fans are invited to join members of the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania for their annual conference on April 1-2 at the Penn?Stater Hotel.
Educational programs at the conference include a presentation by the National?Aviary of Pittsburgh and Penguins in Peril by Steven Sarro, the director of animals programs.
Also attending will be Jennifer Brackbill, the director of raptor programs at the Shavers Creek Environmental Center, an outreach resource of Penn State. The program, called "Predatory Cavity Nesters," is about predators in the sky.
The keynote presentation is the Cornell Lab of Ornithology from Ithaca, N.Y., with guest speaker Kenyon Widger, the project assistant of NestWatch.
Widger's presentation will focus on how attendees can interact with Cornell Lab.
The event, which is open to the public, costs $35 and includes the Friday night social and continental breakfast and luncheon buffet Saturday.
