MILL HALL - The Altoona Area Junior High School girls basketball team capped off an undefeated season by routing Central Mountain, 51-13, Wednesday.

Emily Iuzzolino led the 16-0 Lady Lions with 14 points, Lauren Donley scored 13, and Andrea Luciano added seven.

ALTOONA (51): Donley 13, Hatch 2, Lee 5, Ale. Palfey 5, Aly. Palfey 5, Iuzzolino 14, Luciano 7.

CENTRAL MOUNTAIN (13): Heckman 5, Shady 3, Strouse 3, Swinehart 2.

Records: Altoona (16-0); Central Mountain (12-5).

Hollidaysburg boys roll

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Greg Bearer scored 11 points to lead Hollidaysburg to a 47-27 win over Penns Valley, improving the Tigers' record to 13-1, in junior high boys basketball.

PENNS VALLEY (27): Beamesderfer 3, Johnson 6, Cooke 3, Sharpe 3, Ott 8, Koser 3.

HOLLIDAYSBURG (47): Bearer 11, Dinges 4, Defay 6, R. Miller 2, Ruggery 4, Waltz 6, T. Miller 3, Aigner 3, Breinich 6, Hayes 2.

Records: Hollidaysburg (13-1).

Bedford tops Northern Bedford

LOYSBURG - Jim Hickey led a balanced attack with nine points as Bedford won at Northern Bedford, 35-22, in junior high boys basketball.

The Panthers (7-13) got eight points each from Coltin Ebersole and Tyler Oswalt.

BEDFORD (35): Hickey 9, Arnold 6, Bingham 6, Shaffer 4, Montgomery 4, Blevins 3, Downs 3.

NORTHERN BEDFORD (22): Ebersole 8, Oswalt 8, Baker 4, Petrou 2.

Records: Northern Bedford (7-13).

BG hockey team triumphs

JOHNSTOWN - Jonathan Onufro scored two goals to lead Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic over Ferndale in a Laurel Mountain Hockey League game at the War Memorial Arena. Nate Antesberger added the other goal for the Marauders, and Seth Barrett had two assists.

Jared Buzzard scored both of the Yellow Jackets' goals.

Ford City knocks off Tigers

KITTANNING - The Hollidaysburg Area High School ice hockey team fell to 12-6, thanks to a 7-4 loss at Ford City.

Hollidaysburg, which trailed 3-0 after one period, got second-period goals from Macky Power, Alex Satkunas and Sam Lafferty. The Tigers cut the lead to 4-3 after two periods but was outscored, 3-1, in the third period. Power scored the lone Hollidaysburg goal in the final frame.

Ford City improved to 17-1-1. Hollidaysburg is off until a week from today when it plays at Derry.
