EBENSBURG - A Cresson man has been charged with allegedly beating a fellow resident at the Cambria Care Center on Saturday.
Ray Francis Dunmyer Jr., 78, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault - all felonies - as well as simple assault and recklessly endangering another person for the assault of a 70-year-old man, according to state police at Ebensburg and online court records.
The 70-year-old resident suffered critical injuries after he was struck in the head with a door while he was on the floor inside the 370-bed home, police said.
Trooper Douglas Fresch said the injured resident was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, and police indicated Monday that no update was available.
A preliminary hearing for Dunmyer had not yet been set Monday, online records indicated.
