This is in response to a recent letter from Francis Crnarich of Homer City.
I not sure what he wants Ben Roethlisberger to do so show remorse. He did his time. He said he was sorry, and the big thing was he was never charged with a crime.
It sounds like the female in question was following Ben from bar to bar. I'm not saying that rape is right. It is not. But Ben was never charged with it. I think it is time to move on.
I didn't see anything in Crnarich's article that referred to Michael Vick or Brett Favre. Brett was permitted by the league to finish the season with a small fine. He is now accused again.
I guess it's in the name of the quarterback - if you are punished by the league or not.
I suggest that we leave Ben alone and to forgive him. It seemed funny that this all took place right before the season started - and then all the fines on James Harrison.
Seems to me like someone does not want the Steelers to win.

Mirror picked wrong time
The Mirror really did not get a good gauge of the local Packers fans.
By having them show up at 3 p.m. on a weekday excluded many of us who work until 3 or start at 3. Plus, it didn't give school students a chance.
There are a lot of us out here, and we don't hide or quit showing our pride.

Aguilera's performance 'a disgrace'
The outcome of the Super Bowl was a real heart-breaker for me, but that wasn't the worst part.
The worst part of the game was the way Christina Aguilera literally murdered the Star Spangled Banner. What a disgrace!
I have heard high school kids sing it much better than that. Don't you sometimes wonder what makes them choose the singers that they do?
Of all the talented singers in the world, why would they pick someone who does nothing but scream (off-key, no less)? Plus she skipped some of the words and put words in where they didn't belong.
She was horrendous to say the least.

Idea for Mountain League
Perhaps the Mountain League should look at the possibilities of a smaller school division (Class AA, and a larger school division (AAA-AAAA).
It could look like this:
A/AA - Philipsburg-Osceola, Bald Eagle Area, Tyrone, Central, Penns Valley. It could add Chestnut Ridge and Bedford if they're interested or Everett and Bellwood-Antis.
AAA-AAAA - the Lewistown-Indian Valley jointure, Central Mountain, Huntingdon, Bellefonte, Juniata, Clearfield and consider the additions of Hollidaysburg, State College, Altoona and Williamsport, if everyone is agreeable.
This is mixing and matching and subject to change.
Some of the bigger schools aren't doing that well right now. Advantages for most of the schools is it would add tremendously to fan interest and a lessening of travel distance and time.
Most of these schools are already playing each other in some sports.
