Band reunites in Altoona
Catch a rare reunion of members of hardcore/punk band The Movielife when Vinnie Caruana of I am the Avalanche and Brandon Reilly of Nightmare of You bring their tour to The Archway Center, 401 5th Ave., Altoona, at 5 p.m. Feb. 23.
Caruana and Reilly, two of The Movielife's founding members, will perform separate acoustic sets with their bands, then come together to do a set of The Movielife songs. This tour leads up to a full reunion show by The Movielife's original members April 30 at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey.
Also performing will be the bands The Narrative, Life on Repeat, Divided by Friday and On The Run.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
Circus show uses fast pace
HUNTINGDON - The spectacle of a three-ring circus gets reduced to a breakneck pace in the performance "Circa: 46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes," which will be presented 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in Rosenberger Auditorium in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts on the Juniata College campus.
For tickets and more information, call 641-JTIX. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $12 for seniors over age 65 and children age 18 and younger. Juniata students are admitted free with a student ID.
Tango takes center stage
UNIVERSITY PARK - Argentina's Tango Buenos Aires will present "Fire and Passion of Tango" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in Eisenhower Auditorium.
Tickets are $38 for adults, $15 for University Park students and $28 for those age 18 and younger. CLP casting new musical
EBENSBURG - Cresson Lake Playhouse will hold auditions for the musical "The Marvelous Wonderettes" at 1 p.m. April 9 at the CLP Rehearsal Hall, 526 W. Ogle St.
"The Marvelous Wonderettes" features familiar pop hits of the 1950s and '60s like "Lollipop," "Dream Lover" and "It's My Party."
All roles are available. Those auditioning should bring a vocal selection about 32 bars in length, and in a 1950's to 1960's style. Piano accompaniment will be provided.
"The Marvelous Wonderettes" will be performed May 26 through June 4.
