As much as I've been a fan of Joe Paterno through the years, I think things have reached the point where he is sort of tarnishing his image and legacy or whatever you want to call it by his stubborn refusal to step down.
I know you read articles from all over the country, and it's a shame he has now become the butt of so many jokes etc.
Just observing him on the sideline, his face contradicts his claim that he's still having fun.
It's a darn shame because he's had a great ride all these years, and I just find it hard to believe President Graham Spanier or other influential boosters will not step in and exercise their authority.
Paterno could do like Bo Schlembecher. Have an office to go to every day. Be there if someone wants to pick his brains, you know the routine.
Even a Joe Paterno cannot be bigger than the school.
The Nittany Lions need to become a major player again, but it's not going to happen until things change up there.
