Five Guys Burgers and Fries will open a restaurant this summer in the Pleasant Valley Shoppes on Pleasant Valley Boulevard.
Five Guys, based in Arlington, Va., has signed an agreement to lease 2,045 square feet of the plaza, which is already home to Pizza Hut/Wing Street, Aspen Dental and Miracle Ear, said Bob Varner, vice president of real estate for Pennswood Commercial Realty.
Varner said an 800-square-foot space would remain left to be filled at the plaza.
Five Guys opened its first restaurant in Arlington, Va., in 1986 and has grown to more than 750 locations in 40 states and has consistently been voted as one of the "Best Burgers" throughout the U.S., Varner said.
Five Guys is expected to employ about 10 full- and part-time people and will have seating for about 60 customers.
Five Guys also has locations in Johnstown and State College.
"They are becoming very big nationwide," Varner said. "We are pleased to round out the center with Five Guys. They are a nice complement to the other tenants in the project and add a little more sizzle to the center."
