HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg Area High School senior Sarah Kaneshiki celebrated her 18th birthday in record-breaking fashion in high school swimming on Thursday.
Kaneshiki set two school records, including one pool record, in helping the Lady Tigers defeat Huntingdon, 111-56. The Hollidaysburg boys also won, 129-39.
Kaneshiki swam a time of 24.86 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, breaking Kristy Nardozza's record of 24.90 that stood for 24 years. Kaneshiki also swam a 1:01.78 in the 100 backstroke, breaking Angela Marino's 3-year-old record of 1:02.42.
Taylor McCalpin won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle events for the Lady Tigers.

NC sweeps Richland
NORTHERN CAMBRIA - David Pedersen was a double winner for Northern Cambria as it defeated Richland, 83-66, in high school boys swimming.
Pedersen picked up victories in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.
On the girls side, Leah Paronish and Kristen Paronish were double winners as the Northern Cambria, knocked off Richland, 92-76.
Leah picked up her wins in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:11.77 and in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.60. Kristen picked up her wins in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:15.63 and in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:31.19.

Highlanders split with Stingers
PATTON - The Cambria Heights boys swim team remained undefeated (4-0) with a 107-38 win over Marion Center.
Double winners for the Highlander boys were Jean Poutrain in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle, Nick Galczynski in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Tristin Irwin, who won the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle.
In winning the 200 IM, Irwin broke the school's record with a time of 2.20.51.
The previous record-holder was Mark Wagner, who set the record in 1975.
The MC girls swim team defeated the CH girls, 92-57.
Marion Center had a pair of double winners to help the Stringers pick up the victory.
Jaymie Sheehan won the 100 breaststroke for Cambria Heights and was part of a winning relay team.
