Penn State linebackers coach Ron Vanderlinden has been linked as a candidate for the head coaching job at Ball State, according to multiple published reports.
Vanderlinden, who worked as an assistant at Ball State in 1982, was head coach at Maryland from 1997-2000 and went 15-29. He was fired following the 2000 campaign and joined the PSU staff the next year.
