Laura Jane Mock, 75, Juniata, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Thursday at her residence.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Whitestine) DeMarino. She married Lynn E. Mock on Aug. 12, 1953, in Winchester, Va., and he died Jan. 19, 2006.
Surviving are five children: LouAnne Grassmyer and husband, Bill, Lynn E. "Cork" II and wife, Sylvia, and Dorothy "Doe" Sunderland and husband, Rusty, all of Altoona, Michael "Mike" and wife, Dolores, of Cleveland, Texas, and Laura "Penny" Herbert and husband, Ron, of Pittsburgh; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Patricia Barger, Helen Hollingshead and Thomas Rooney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery; and two brothers: Francis and Butch.
Laura was a homemaker and a member of Altoona First Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed video games, crossword puzzles and bingo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com), followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m., the Rev. George Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
All are welcome to attend a time of fellowship and refreshment at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Juniata VFW Post 8685 (Fort Apache).
