Pennsylvania's Perfect is seeking contestants for its 2011 state pageant, a preliminary for America's Perfect National Pageant.
This system combines the excitement of a fashion runway show with classic pageantry.
The system is in search of young ladies who possess beauty, articulation, style, dedication to community service, humor, communication skills and grace.
Age divisions are: Junior Teen, 12 to 15; Teen, 16 to 19; Miss, 20 to 29; and this year will be the debut of our new Woman, 30 years and beyond (single, married, divorced or widowed).
Each contestant will receive a score from 1 to 10 in each of three categories. Each category accounts for one third of each contestant's total score.
The areas of competition for Junior Teen, Teen and Miss are press conference interview, swimwear and evening gown. The Woman category will compete in press conference interview, WOW wear (high fashion outfit) and evening gown.
Unique to perfect pageants is the crowning of one state queen and four runners up local title queens.
In conjunction with the state pageant, the co-director and choreographer, Typhani Janelle Russo, will host a "Pawsitively Purrfect" Charity Fashion Show for the benefit of the Pajama Program and the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
Each contestant will donate a new pair of children's pajamas, one new children's book and a shelter animal supply. Each contestant will showcase an outfit of her choice on the runway and one winner will be crowned.
The public is invited and a donation of one of the items mentioned is required for entry to this event.
Entries also are being accepted for the Pennsylvania's Perfect Princess (ages 9 to 11) and Pennsylvania's Perfect Junior Princess (ages 4 to 8). The areas of competition are beauty (short dress for junior princess and short or long for princess), fun fashion and onstage questions. Hair and make-up should be age-appropriate.
This year will introduce Pennsylvania's Little Miss Perfect, a pageant introduced by the national director, Michael Galanes, through his We TV show "Little Miss Perfect." Age divisions will be 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 11. Areas of competition will be forever in blue jeans and formal wear.
Pageants will be held April 30 at the Laurel Lodge Conference Center at Hemlock Estates, Duncansville.
Tickets are available for each individual pageant from any contestant, through the pageant office or at the door.
