Erie man faces sentence for robbing FBI informant

July 7, 2014
Associated Press

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania man faces sentencing for helping to rob an FBI informant of $2,800 in government funds and an audio transmission device after his girlfriend allegedly found out a drug deal was an undercover ruse.

Twenty-two-year-old Latisha Palochak, of Erie, pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced last month to 37 months in federal prison.

Her co-defendant Elijah Sherrod, of Erie, has also pleaded guilty, and was scheduled for sentencing Monday.

Prosecutors say Palochak somehow learned that the July 16 deal to purchase two ounces of cocaine was a government sting, so she had Sherrod show up to rob the informant.

Sherrod was scheduled to appear before U.S. District Judge David Cercone in Erie.
