PCS performing 'Wait Until Dark'

STATE COLLEGE - Pennsylvania Centre Stage, in its 25th year of professional theatre, will kick off the season with the mystery "Wait Until Dark," being presented Wednesday through June 12 in the Citizens Bank Theatre, at the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, 146 S. Allen St.

Professional actors taking part in the show include Bob Clendenin, a character actor who has appeared on many television shows, including "The Closer," "Scrubs," "Desperate Housewives" and "Weeds." Clendenin made his professional debut with PCS in 1987.

Local artist a part of juried exhibition

GREENSBURG - Sharon Wall of Altoona, a local fiber artist and art teacher at Altoona Area High School, has one of her artworks, "Compositions in Eight," included in the Juried Biennial at the Westmoreland Museum. The exhibition will be on display from June 6 through July 4.

There is a reception for the exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. June 5.

The Westmoreland Museum, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays.

Mayday Parade plays show in Altoona

Atlantic Records pop punk act Mayday Parade will play a show at 5 p.m. Tuesday at The Eldolyn Terrace, 210 Arlaryd St., Altoona. Opening acts for the show are Baltimore's The Dangerous Summer, Pittsburgh's Gene the Werewolf and Altoona's The Hope Fallacy.

Mayday Parade's second album, "Anywhere But Here," reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Alternative Album charts.

Tickets for the show are $12 and $15 and are available at the door.

Science Center to feature sub tour

PITTSBURGH - On select Sunday mornings this summer, Carnegie Science Center will offer visitors the chance to go behind the scenes of the USS Requin, a Cold War-era submarine docked on the Ohio River.

Requin Tech Tours will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. June 13, July 11 and Aug. 8. Due to the submarine's structure, Requin Tech Tours require full mobility and tour size is limited to 12 people.

Admission is $12 for Science Center members and $15 for non-members. Register for the tours by calling 412-237-1637.

Visitors wishing to go on a self-guided tour are welcome to do so daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays through the summer.

It is included with general admission to the Science Center; admission to the submarine is $5 for walk-ups.
