The Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation will hold its annual luncheon at noon May 6 at The Casino at Lakemont Park, Altoona.
The 11th Blair County Philanthropy Award will be presented to Willard E. "Bill" Campbell. Campbell is being recognized for his lifetime of financial support of and/or service to the following organizations and projects: 4-H, FFA, National MS Society, American Cancer Society, Saint Francis University, Juniata College IUP and others.
Past recipients of this award include: T. Dean Lower, G. William Ward, Donald E. Wissinger, Anthony Misciagna, The Hite Family, Gerald P. Wolf, Shirley Pechter, Ann Benzel, Dorothea D. Nelson and John Kazmaier. The Blair County Philanthropy Award recipient was selected by a committee of community leaders based on the criteria that the recipient should be someone who has given generously of their time and money for the betterment of Blair County. This is the highest award given by the Community Foundation.
The Community Foundation will also be recognizing their Blair County Fellows and Scholarship Recipients. Ticket are still available at a cost of $30 each, please RSVP by Monday.
