DUNCANSVILLE - The third annual diabetes walk to raise money for the Diabetes Research Institute will take place May 15 at Foot of Ten Elementary School's walking track.
The day will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Miranda's Walking Warriors at 11 a.m.
Steamer from the Altoona Curve will help with a balloon release at noon and will stay to visit kids during the event.

This year's walk will feature a "diabetes fair," including representatives from Animas, Medtronic, Novo-Nordisk,?Abbott, Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline, as well as Bayer's life-size display of Nick Jonas to get pictures with. The day will also include door prizes, face painting, fundraisers for themed baskets and autographed footballs by Joe Namath and Heath Miller and a fruit and water station.
